movin on up (movin on up)

I finally moved into a house!! Last week consisted of packing, birthday, Olympics, a quick work trip to San Antonio for two days, more packing, and finally moving!

Dad, Mom, and Grandmother (she wanted to come so bad, bless her heart) arrived late Friday evening just in time for Dad to come help Lisa and Co. unload her room furniture into her new cute house. I love the bright fun colors, her organized closet, and the HAMMOCK! So excited for her. Saturday morning we all work up after a sleepover with Grandmother and began packing boxes until the parentals arrived. Then the manual labor began…many trips down the hall and one piano later I'm all moved into both my storage room and Elizabeth's house. Yes, I realize at some point I may stop calling it "Elizabeth's House" but I just can't imagine when that would be. Saturday was a full day of moving, unpacking, and moving furniture. We even managed to get the rest of Lisa's stuff in her storage room and dispose of our unwanted furniture/clothes (no thanks to the rude Goodwill man). This weekend we are meeting at the old apartment to clean it up a bit and then we can turn in our keys and be done with Jefferson.

The new house is fun and different. Here are some things I immediately like:

  • Not sharing walls with strangers
  • No parking garage
  • No crazy people coming back from the bars at 2am (although I have yet to experience a weekend there – who knows how CRAZY Elizabeth is going to be…)
  • No continual bass keeping me from napping at all hours of the weekend
  • Lots of space
  • TV in my room (alllllmost, I mean, it is there but not really hooked up yet)
  • Papa's chair in my room, means so much to me
  • Red front door
  • How well my room décor matches the wall color in my room
  • Carpooling with Elizabeth
  • Living in a residential neighborhood with families and people walking and other houses!
  • Outdoor kitchen (which I will get to partake of this weekend for the first time)
  • Flat screen TV and HD channels
  • Super Target

I'm sure there will be more to add to the list later but those are the exciting things for now.

Also – our second home group meeting is this weekend and we're having a guy from the Village come speak to us for a bit. He is about to head overseas to do missions and I am so excited to hear him speak and learn more about what he is going to be doing.

That's it for now. I just got some exciting TV news so I'll post separately with that in just a bit.

Sounds like there's a lot of great things about your house & neighborhood :) I am fascinated by the idea of an outdoor kitchen.
