bricks and sticks

Why does buying "things", anything really, make me feel wasteful. Of course these are things I will use on a daily basis and things that in our culture I "need" but really do I? How can I be greatful for the things I have, continually greatful, and just not get the things I don't need. Sounds easy enough but in practice just isn't, at least not for me. I want to be satisfied with what I have, continually satisfied, but I'm not. I am always yearning to be somewhere else, have something else, and be someone else. I know my satisfaction comes from the Lord and yet He is the last on the list of things I try to comfort myself with.

In summary - I don't need anything that I don't have and most of the things that
I do have. My life is overflowing with stuff, trinkets, clothes, movies,
gadgets, toys, books, and music that I don't need. I need to purge and become a
clean slate to reflect the Lord and bring joy to those around me through His
love for them.

In another only slightly correllated idea I'd like to share with everyone the two loves of my life: James McAvoy and Michael Buble.
James and I recently reunited during the lovely hour and a half of my life this past weekend when I watched his new movie Penelope with Christina Ricci and Reese Witherspoon. The movie is delightfully charming, funny, and surprisingly sweet. Moviegoers please add it to your list.
Mike and I recently united for the first tme (yes, it was love at first sight) at his concert at Nokia Theater in Grand Prairie on Sunday night. Paul took me to the concert for my Christmas present (merry christmas in march!) and I was almost struck speechless (almost, but not quite). He is funny, charming, sweet, so talented, quirky, and let's not leave out sexy. Overall there is nothing that I don't like about Mikey - as I'm sure his girlfriend would agree. If anyone knows any single James McAvoy's or Michael Buble's please please send them my way.

ps. How did Billary win in Texas. What is wrong with Texans?

I know how you feel about all the "stuff" we have in our lives. I think the fact that you are thinking about it and conscious of it is enough. Please don't throw away your earings! :)

I'm sooooo jealous you saw Mikey B!
