music (uno)

I think I'm going to start a series on music (hence the creative title).

I would initially like to point out that I did not jump on this bandwagon, rather I helped lead the horse. Jessie mentioned that she had found two great new artists on itunes last year and one happened to be Sara Bareilles. So I've shared her around with my friends and now she's everywhere...but I'm going to say I knew her back when...

OK - enough of that. Sara's music is everything that it should be: brimming with talent and creativity, well thought out, entertaining, pleasing to the ear, unique, introspective, written by her, melodic, beautiful, and soul-baring. I was also happy to find out last week that she is a fun person as well - see her journal on her website. I think we could be friends.

And finally if you ever get a chance to listen to her in person - DO IT! We made the trek to the House of Blues to see her the first time she came to Dallas and she completely rocked. She was also in town this past weekend and I told my coworker who was going but was talked into it by a friend and was unsure if she was excited that she needed to be prepared for Sara to rock her face off...and when I ran into my friend again over the weekend she indeed admitted that I was right.
